The Premier League matches that took place today had its fair share of intriguing results. the first match of te day between Stoke City and Manchester United, ended in draw, and at 4pm, most of the matches were played.
One of such matches was the one played between Arsenal and Southamptom. That game ended 2-0 in favour of Southhampton who got two christmas gifts from the Arsenal defenders and the keeper .
The first goal came as a result of the keeper's wrong calculation, and the second goal was Mattieu Debuchy the keeper's fault. Arsenal showed lack of physical presence in the game.
Manchester City defeated Sunderland 3-2, thanks to Frank Lampard who got the winning goal. He is set to extend his contract at the club. with this win, they are now at quits with the Premier League leader Chelsea.
Aston Villa played a goaless draw with Crystal Palace.
West Ham played 1-1 with West Brom
Stoke City were denied a clear penalty as they held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw in a very physical game.
Liverpool had two unclear penalties which Steven Gerrard converted from the spot, but the visitors Leicester City pulled two back within two minutes to level score. The referee made a blunder in the award of the two penalties. The first one hit the defendre's face, and the second was a ball to hand. The performance of Liverpool was very awful.
Hull City defeated out-of-form Everton 2-0.
QPR recorded a 1-1 draw with Swansea.
Newcastle also played 3-3 draw with Burnley.
The intriguing part of today's results was the game between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. The game ended 5-3 in favour of Tottenham. It was an unexpected result which now puts both Manchester City and Chelsea at the same points but with goal difference.
It was a disasterous game for Chelsea who have never lost a game to such a margin. It can be described that Harry Kane caned Chelsea because the young lad put up a scintillating performance. Jose Mourinho was very disappointed at his boys performance. He was captured in the video at several times shaking his head in disdain and dsigust.
