Insult to injury! Basle post mocked images of Liverpool’s defeat to top their misery

Last night was a very miserable one for Liverpool fans even off the field. After knocking out Liverpool out of the Champions League, Basle still went ahead to add more insult to injury by posting mocked images that had since gone viral online.

Fabian Frei opened the scoring for the Swiss champions in the 25th minute, and things got worse for the hosts when Lazar Markovic was sent off for lashing out at Behrang Safari. Steven Gerrard brought his side back into the game when he scored late on but Basle held on to go through to the last 16.
