England manager Roy Hodgson has given thumbs up to his players for an outstanding display against bitter rivals Scotland

Manager Roy Hodgson describes England as "very good" in their 3-1 friendly victory over Scotland at Celtic Park.

Hodgson was delighted with the mentality of his players in the game against Scotland 

According to him; "The visitors started the game very well and gave our supporters something to cheer about in a "supportive atmosphere" for the hosts".

Two goals from Wayne Rooney moved him to within three goals of Bobby Charlton's England scoring record, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain getting on the end of Arsenal teammate Jack Wilshere’s superb pass and Andrew Robertson of Scotland also netting to set up a comeback that failed to materialize.

Rooney is now the third-highest goal-scorer for England with 45 goals, overtaking Jimmy Greaves.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan slammed the mentality of his players 

Meanwhile, Scotland manager, Gordon Strachan reacted that the visitors ‘spooked’ his players who may have been mentally fatigued. He added that the past ten days overall was a success with the defeat of Republic of Ireland in the European Championship qualifier on Friday.
